If a person is religious, their sense of "Right and Wrong" is going to be directed by their faith. So are you saying that you would rather have someone who does not have a rudder so to speak? A morally bankrupt individual who would, for example, have sex with an underling, deny it, and then when the threat of prosecution had passed, say, "I did it because I could."
Being religious has only some bearing on a persons disretion between right and wrong. Some of the most corrupt people in the world are very religious (take priests with little boys as an example).
Religious fervor does not mean you are any better at discretionary decisions than one who is less religious in the least.
