car wont start, help?
hi,
i'm pretty new to this whole car stuff, i just bought my first car a couple days ago, a 1990 integra GS, in amazing shape i might add. but heres the problem, the car was checked out and test driven before it was purchased. the car ran great, it continued to run great up until last night. i was driving home and it started to act up, its a standard i might add, anyways the car started jerking kind of like when you let off the clutch too soon and dont have ur foot on the accelerator. it did that then stalled, i started the car again, with no problem and drove about two blocks to get to my house, it ran fine but i didnt think something was right, so i started it again, no problem and drove it around the block only to have it do the exact same thing again, this time it stalled and now it wont start. all the lights work fine, the stero works fine so im pretty sure its not the battery, fluids are good and topped off. when i try and start it, the engine turns over, it actually starts but then turns off, my friend said it might be the spark plugs and im pretty sure its not the starter because it starts but it wont stay running. also when i start it theres a back fire from the exhaust.. i was told that it could be the timing belt aswell and that if this is a interferience engine i could be in big trouble.
*the car has about 224,000km on it, it turns over so its not ceazed, it starts but wont stay started, help please if you can, i just put a bunch of money into this and i dont want it to be an expensive stereo.
