I have a '92 Civic VX with the 5sp manual S20 Transmission. This is actually a used trans that I put in 3 years ago to replace the original that had the same problem. How tough is it to change the bearings in the trans? The main shaft and whatever others that are in there... I'm certain that the noise I'm hearing is not the flywheel bearing or the clutch release (i'll replace those too of course) because I only get the noise while driving or when the car is in nutral with the foot off the pedal (clutch engaged). Should I just have a shop do it or should I just "throw it in the gutter and go buy another"?
