I would highly recommend a Roots-type supercharger (such as Jackson Racing), if you want instant, usable torque with NO lag. The peak power gains will not match that of a turbo, but you will have plenty of immediate "lb-ft" at your disposal when you step on the gas at lower rpm

.
If you go this route, there are a few things to keep in mind:
1) Do not raise boost over 42 kPa (6 psi), due to the high compression pistons in your engine.
2) J.R.'s FMU (rising rate fuel pressure regulator) is mediocre, so either get a different FMU (such as Cartech), or go for Hondata (best option, but super expensive).
3) Make sure it's tuned right!
Hope this helped. About 18 mos ago, I helped a friend install one of these blowers, along with Hondata and 440 mL injectors, on his beautiful blue 2000 Civic Si. After it was tuned, the performance was remarkable. I'm not a fan of turbos at all, especially on our Honda engines, but there are people on this board that feel the same way about Roots-type blowers. Oh well, to each their own

. What ever you choose, let us know how it goes!
