no, that'd be a trunk leak. my del sol has, correction, HAD that problem. prolly a bad weather seal. look for rust holes too.

fenders & such will rust quicker w/o those. dirt, mud, snow... everything will end up caked between the door & your fender. it sucks. plus, w/ a CAI, that's a bad idea. you will prolly end up getting water in it. you'll really have to watch big ass puddles. hydrolocking = bitch and a half
