i dont know who you are but many things can effect compression. the c5 has a greater compression than a c1, but thats only because the pistons compression value outweighs that of the higher lid on the pr3 casting of the head.

there is less room in the c1's head, it achieves higher compression

if you put type-r pistons in with a c1 head you'd achieve about 11.1:1 compression over the 10.9:1 compression of the typical usdm c5

this is the same reason increasing the thickness of the head gasket lowers the compression ratio whle decreasing it decreases the compression ratio
