F series motor: 135 hp
H23: 160hp
H22a: 200 hp (jdm)

With your F series motor the only way to really make power is going to be turboing it. Alot of guys will say this is a good move because The F series engine is ran at low compression and can handle more boost then it's high compressioned brothers (h23 / h22).

Others will say no due to the rep of F series motors being supposively weak. Just because the F series motor has low compression doesn't mean it's going to be a good motor boost, For example: a geo metro is ran at low compression, does not neccesarely mean it's a good motor to turbo. Lets say you decide to turbo it lets look at cost...

a F22b2 (non-vtec sohc) boosting 6psi dynoed 168hp on dynojet (un-tunned). Somewhere I read a F22 tuned at 7psi on stock internals claimed 180hp another claimed 195hp. The f22b2 supposively can handle 8-10psi daily driver on stock internals.

Turbo kit: $2,000 - 2,500
Installiation: $1500

Now that's just about $3,500 roughly, You also need to get better fuel management system + what ever turbo goodies you want or that didn't come in the kit (gauges, timer, exhuast piping, ob2-ob1 harness for new fmu etc..).
Being un-tuned if you go greddy's stock 6psi you'll have 168 dynoed.

$5,000 turboed F22: 180-195hp (depends the quality of who ever tunned it).

H22A 92-95 Complete Change Over
200Hp 161Trq 10.6 Compression (JDM)
190Hp 156Trq 10.0 Compression (USDM)
$ 2199.00, + labor for installiation $1000-1500.

Or even H23 160hp for $900 + labor.

It's either turboed f22 to run a little less or as fast as an h22a swap.

I think The swap looks like a better deal. Good platform, N/a reliability... less headaches.
