The distinction between gay and straight is really way less black & white than our current society makes it out to be. But even now there's plenty of grey area. For example it's socially acceptable for two girls to make out with each other and just because they do, that doesn't prevent them from being considered totally straight and they like the cock. But two dudes make out and it's gross or something.
Back before someone or other got all huffy about classifying people who engaged in homosexual activities as a specific class, if you did something gay you were considered to have committed sodomy. It was an act that someone did on one or more instances, not a definition of the entire person.
This being born gay stuff seems more like the people who have been classified trying to shift personal responsibility away from themselves. They wouldn't need to shift blame of course, if they weren't being blamed to start with.
I personally have no problem with anyone hooking up with whoever they feel like doing it with (well, at least within the same species...), and I think we'd have far less problems if being gay or straight was considered just another preference, no different from liking blondes or brunettes.
