It depends on how you look at it. 1998 was the beginning of a new generation (6th) so pretty much everything was changed. But it seems like the basic design philosophy was the same. A casual look at the front suspension says they're the same. But I bet if you take '97 & '98 parts side-by-side & actually measure them, they'd be different.

Same with 2003 being the beginning of the 7th generation. The front suspension & brakes look identical. But I bet you can take individual parts & measure them & they'll be different.
