Well essentially they're the same, as in the underpinnings have the same basic design. There was an entire platform change in 1990 for the 1990-1993 Accord that was carried over with minor changes for the 94-97 version. The 98-02 Accord, 03-07 Accord as well as every other midsize Honda car resides on the new 'global midsize platform'. Technically, the Accord has been riding on the same platform since 1998 with minor tweaks. But if you go back to the early 1980's you'll find the same components you find in a new Accord: double wishbone front suspension, multi link rear suspension, etc.
