Our wedding took place in a park, we had a notary public marry us, my dog was there, one of my wife's co-workers supplied the music...he played the flute. Our reception was given to us by another co-worker of my wife, in a pre-Civil War mansion on the Battery in Charleston a friend of mine supplied a bouquet for the bride. My wife had a floral headband made by one of the "Flower Ladies" on the streets of Charleston.
My wife's side of the wedding attendees were all from the department of Psychiatry at the Medical University in Charleston...Her boss, a psychiatrist married us. My side of the wedding attendees were a bunch of scruffy commercial fishermen. The highlight of the wedding was a bus tour going through the park at the end of our ceremony.
For our honeymoon we took a drive and spent the week in Washington DC, even happening to get into the 5 of May Coalition protest, probably 1/2 million people all over the Capitol and the Mall.
We let our friends supply all the fixings for the wedding, all we did was decide to have it in a park. Our total cost for the wedding...next to nothing.
