A buddy and myself were going to use McMastercar parts to build a TSX hood lift cylinder set. He made a custom set of shocks for his TSX trunk to get rid of the torsion springs.
I stumbled across a site that sold such things (
www.RedlineTuning.com) but not for the TSX, we e-mailed them quite a bit and after some prodding they had a prototype car and soon after a kit online. I went and purchased the Elite kit, my buddy has the standard kit. Thought I'd show you guys how I installed the kit, I was a little less then enthused with Redline Tunings directions. And when they first sent me the kit they included pop rivets not screws for the fender mounts.
After a few days I had the screws and did the install on my wife's car this past weekend. I'm going to e-mail RT my comments and thoughts this week.

Almost a $30k car meets almost $3.00 drill bit....yes I measured this about 6x before I even had the will to drill the beloved TSX.

This is the finished product, lots of OE touch paint on the fresh metal. Unlike the directions you only need a 5/16" hole, DO NOT use a 3/8" bit for this. Way too big a hole for this pivot mount.

Pivot installed and completed, this is where the lift cylinder mounts to the hood.

You drill some pilot holes in the fender, but the hole in the mount is still a tad tight for the self tapping screw. I held the mount with vise grips, else this bad boy would have wipped around, likely scratching the inner fender while I used a drill to run the screw in.

finished results on my wife's fender, looks ok to me.

Finally no more prop stick needed for the TSX. It's just a nice little touch of class for an already nice car IMO.

final results.
Now that I have a set on the TSX, would someone in MI please contact them with a 98-00 Accord coupe. I'd really like a set for my car, but they need a demo car to develope a kit. I don't live in MI or I would donate my car to them, maybe
What use 4cyl 6th gen's really need is just a bracket for the inner fender since our hood has the mount for the v6 lift cyliner. Maybe McMastercar would have something for that
