edit: if you're going to get springs, you don't technically
need aftermarket shocks at the same time. i ran with H&R sport for two years before getting shocks. but i wished i had them the whole time. the ride will probably be pretty bouncy, and because the shocks are so soft, my car would bottom out on dips and such much easier. most people say the stock shocks will blow out, too. mine didn't, for some reason, but i think that was an exception.
anyway, my advice is to get shocks at the same time. if you can afford it, you won't regret it. if you do some searching, you'll find that's the general consensus. this has been asked probably hundreds of times...
