5w30 will do a flow better in freezing temps, but if you don't live in the snowbelt, 10w30 is fine. As always, check your owner's manual.

And before you go crazy with a caulking gun, I'd take the time to fix a leaky gaskets and seals by replacing them, not slathering silicone sealant on them.
