Im going to be putting down 220whp @ 6psi on stock internals on my b18c1 with a t3/t04e. I have seen Jeff Evans tune a stock b18c w/ skunk2 intake manifold for 360whp on stock sleeves and internals. Now of course even though that motor is well well well tuned, its gonna let go eventually because the internals can't hold the extra pressures however I have seen 10psi on well tuned stock engines all the time.
My co-worker has a 1998 Type-R with 112k miles, the engine has never been opened and hes running 9psi on a crappy FMU and pump with a Turbonetics T3 a/r 48 turbine .42 compressor. Hes been boosting for the past year and a half, we go to New England dragway about twice a month and he puts about 6-8 1/4 mile passes every month. His car is not puffing smoke, doesn't burn or leak a drop of oil, and a recent compression test showed:
cyl1:220psi
cyl2:215psi
cyl3:210psi
cyl4:220psi
He hasn't done a leakdown, but its not burning anything. Just goes to show ya, you can run a good amount of boost on any honda engine. Hes going to Uberdata and going to try 12psi.
