Hi,
I just had my 88 legend in the shop and what a lesson in patience. I had the origional tranny go out. It would not shift properly, then at running temp it would quit working all together. I ordered another tranny (used) from a place in NY. The used one came complete with a cracked housing. I had them send me another. It came in working order....at least first gear works. Second will work if I manually shift it. the other gears including reverse do NOT work at all. At least it does not quit after it warms up. I have heard from a couple of people that I need to run real honda tranny oil in it. I got a copy of the repair bill and noticed that they only charged me $2.95 for each quart of oil. Somehow I think that honda oil would cost a lot more than that. My question is:

1 if they put the wrong oil in the tranny, will it act like that?
2 will it harm the tranny to have the wrong oil in it?
3 How in blue blazes do I drain the oil out if it is the wrong stuff
4 can valvoline synthetic be substituted for the honda oil?
5 I have heard that if you mix 75% honda oil and 25% dexron II the tranny will shift much better and last longer.
