I couldn't agree anymore....my tranny didn't like the 7200 rpm abuse...actually neither of my first 2 did. Hopefully the 3rd one i put in at 40K miles will last a bit longer In any case...downshifting and revving up to make the car not jerk is called rev matching not double clutching. And i'd rather put it in neutral and brake....the brakes are designed to wear down, the engine isn't. And would you rather pay 100 for some new rotors/pads of 1000 for a motor/tranny?
