If you're comfortable with lifting your car & taking the wheels off, you can do lots of those inspections yourself. Go to www.helminc.com for the best repair manual, but even Haynes & Chilton (public library?) are better than nothing.

What about all that stuff in your signature? Did you install it yourself? If so, you can handle most of the inspections.
