jw is ls/vtec legal? cuz then if they r like "we didnt know the 90 integra had vtec" i could just say i did a ls/vtec. and that b18a1 badge or b16a after the swap im not sure they know where it even is (if they even look for it) because mine is pretty much blocked from view somehow...but it is, and they didnt say anything.
edit: ok i checked y it looked block, its because there is like 3cm on grim built up there all over it. so they didnt say anything and as long as i pass smog im sure they dont care. so will a jdm XSi b16a pass smog? and could cam gears make u not pass?

I've given you the link to the CARB website which lays out all the legalities pertaining to an engine swap. I even quoted from that web-page. Go there and read.
Here's the link... again.
LS/VTEC motors are illegal because under CARB law, a replacement cylinder head "must be identical to the original".
There is no way to avoid the smog referee if you upgrade to a motor that is different from the B18A your car was equipped with. If you don't do it on your own time, an officer will cite you and you will have to go, plus you'll face fines from $50 on up..
