My tolerance level has now been breached.
For as long as I could remember, Marin County had been exempted from the dyno-based smog checks that cost an arm and a leg.
For as long as I have owned and maintained a car, I've been accustomed to stopping by the local gas station and throwing them $20 for a tailpipe sniffer test.
No longer will things be so simple and cheap.
In the last two years, unbeknownst to me, the bastards at CARB have removed all the old-style sniffer testers and replaced them with the dyno-based machines.
And the $20.00 smog check has tripled in price.
This state-sanctioned extortion is rediculous.
I have had my fill of this enviro-fascist state.
Discuss.
I passed, by the grace of God...but I am seriously considering either:
a) selling the Integra for a Ghia or other smog-exempt project car.
b) leaving the state of California as soon as I graduate from CSUN.
