Default problems with sub and amp

i have a rockford fosgate amp and an infinity 10". for an enclosed box, it needs to be about .75 cu. ft.
i had it in a cheap box that was that size, and just got a better box, but its about 1.5 cu.ft.
after switching everything over, now when i turn the radio on, or change the station, the sub pops, and hits the bass hard about 3 or 4 times. whats the problem?
everything is hooked up the way it should be, and the same way it was before, and i had no problems.
it sounds fine after that, so i dont think the size of the box is the problem.
maybe i moved the remote wire or rcas to close to the ground or power wire?
when i was hooking it up, i accidentally hit the ground wire on the power wire, and it sparked, but the fuse didnt blow.
could that have messed up the amp somehow? like i said, it works fine after the pop, and 3 or 4 hits.
