Is there a check engine light on? If there is we can help you find out exactly what is wrong with the car. The sensors that typically go on Hondas are the oxygen sensors, which can get pretty expensive and help the engine to provide the correct amount of fuel to the combustion chambers.

If there's no check engine light and the engine runs fine and you get proper MPG, maybe there isn't a problem at all.

For reference: In the F23 (the 4 banger in the 98-02 Accord), the #1 cylinder ignition wire goes in the bottom left plug in the distributor and 2-3-4 go counterclockwise to it. I bet all Honda 4 cylinders with distributors are the same.
