Thanks! I thought this may be the issue after reading that chapter in the Haynes. I'll get out the ohmeter and check it out, see if it's not sending a signal. Yes, her warranty is long past dead; bought used just recently anyways.

BTW, if I took that post incorrectly, I will gladly remove the rant.
