You could build your d16 and buy a turbo for the cost of swapping in a k20. I just finshed doing a k20 into an eg and it was a pain in the ass, but well worth the effort (cost I would disagree with)....the k20 run over $3k then you have about another $1500 in parts (axles, mounts,etc)
A stock d16 can handle about 220whp with a turbo, and close to 400whp with rods and pistons.
