yeh it cost me twice as much but i decided to upgrade to a 4 guage kit. I got 12 guage wire from home depot to hook up my sub to amp. I am planning on getting a 50x4 amp for my speakers in the future so this is the best choice.

http://www.the12volt.com/wiring/recwirsz.asp it says that a 4 guage wire can handle 150 amps. The kit that I got came with a 150 amp mega fuse. I hear what you're saying about a 60 amp fuse because the current should not be above 60 anyways and a problem would be solved more quickly with a smaller fuse way before the wire reaches its current limit. Is it necessary to get a 60 or is 150 sufficient.
