Did you put the rims on yourself? If you did, then it's time to invest in a good torque wrench. Tightening lugnuts using the wrench that came with your car is never safe. For temporary reason, it's ok. If you want to use that, then you should step on the wrench and jump on it to make it tight. (of course, that's not the recommended method)
