Why exactly is that? Are we afraid our members might get too much information? Or perhaps we have some sort of inferiority complex?

I belong to 8 other forums and none of them restrict cross-postings. What is the problem here?

Perhaps you could direct me to the section in the "Terms of Service" that expressly prohibits links to other forums? I would like to understand this position better.
It's been moderator policy for as long as I can remember. But I resigned from being a mod over a year ago, so maybe it's changed. Some Honda forums actually censor links to other forums, but we don't do that. Linking to technical articles posted elsewhere is fine, but that's not a tech article (nor did it really have any useful information for the poster in it). No need to get all pissy about it, sheesh.
