When I went home on leave for Christmas it was like 20 degrees outside and like 2 am in the morning. I went to get some gas and on my way out from paying I saw this guy in tatters digging through the trash for something to eat. I gave him $20 and told him to get a sandwich or something. What's cool about it is, he wasn't begging or annoying anyone and when I gave him the money he just said "Thank you" and smiled. I felt bad about not giving him more.
