Default Quick question about tach after swap

As I've said before, I recently bought a Del Sol with a B18C1 swap. The guy I bought the car from had the swap done at a shop. My question is, is it standard practice for a shop to recalibrate the tach after the swap, or does it even need to be recalibrated? The car is an S model so the dash redline is around 6000, but I'm wondering if taking it all the way up to 8000 (going by the dash) is such a great idea. I usually shift by 7000 because the engine is already going crazy enough at that rpm (and I rarely do this anyway). I'd hate to destroy such a beautiful car and engine. I suppose I could contact the seller again, but I was just wondering what is normally done with the tach after a swap. Thanks for any help.
