If you want to turbo, thats your best option, but personally, I'd go for an engine swap, either a B18C if you can afford it, or a B18B. And then work from there. I have a D16Z6... and that's what i plan to do.
I totally disagree. 250whp is not THAT hard to squeeze out of a D16z6 single cam, and its certainly not stupid. ive personally seen hp in the 3,4, and even 500 hp range with a D16 sohc-T. The z6 is a lot of fun to turbocharge and you will not be disappointed if it's done right. With a T3 and fully built head and block, with good tuning on uberdata, hondata, crome, etc. you will see some nice street numbers. For the cost of building up the Z6 and turbo charging it, is just about the same price as buying a stock B18c motor. THAT is a waste of money IMO. If you were going for an all motor beast, then that is the best platform to start off from, but with turbo D is better! A b/g is not necessary for 250 but cant hurt, along with good sleeving, piston/rod combo and head work. Crower springs, retainers, valves, along with either a zex cam or Crower cam, and a port/polish job, my friend you will be seeing some nice hp to the wheels. Good luck and stick with the D!
