Street tires are made of a compound that will stay pliable longer than R tires. The oils in the tires do not evaporate as quickly because they have longer tread life. I just sold a set of VictorRacers for $25 and they were 4 years old. Those were hard as super balls.
Right which makes a lot of sense, since these guys are on the track for 30-45mins going balls out. But that is exactly what makes them hard as balls and not as sticky as street rubber that has several autox on them.
