160,000 on my 96. No problems ever and still runs like new. Bought with 40k miles 3 years ago and hasn't aged except for clear coat peeling off paint. Driven MANY times from Michigan to Florida... runs 22 hours straight non-stop with no problem. I'll put this car up against any Toyota any day. Everyone talks about Honda's automatics, but mine is fine after all these years/miles. I change my fluid with Honda ATF every 15k miles and keep rolling. The only problem Honda has had with their automatics have been with the carrier bearings on the 6th gen and an oil jet recall on the 7th gens.

Keep it maintained, and it should never break. As Jschmid suggested, get the 4-cylinder.
