honda put the limiter there because if you go beyond that its not safe for the engine
and goin beyond it would be pointless, since the engine is already starting to drop off in power production
well technically if the power it's producing after the drop is more than the power it's producing at the rpm you'd be shifting to you'd be better off going further, but then again you are right about hurting the engine
though you may see gains in some cars it's really not worth it in most becae it puts major wear on internal parts.
