Engines require fuel/air/spark/timing/compression. Pull a plug and check for spark. If you have spark, look at the plug after cranking if for a bit see if it is wet, also sniff the cylinder for gas. If the engine sounds like it cranks normally and not cranking slow then fast then slow then fast it probably has at least EVEN compression. I don't know if it is an interference engine. It might not be a bad idea to pop the distributor cap off, turn the engine over by hand and see if the dist. rotor turns. If it does, the timing belt is not broken. ( assuming it is a belt and not a chain ). Though, it is possible for it to jump teeth. There are lots of things that can make a car not start. But, start with the basics.
