however, if it's spray can clear, 1000 is too heavy. you will have to go over it with a lighter grit. i've had bad experiences with spray can and wet sanding. your paint may never actually appear bright if it was spray can clear. it is just designed to give a glossy first appearance, it will not look like automotive paint no-matter what. i would know. what you could do is find a friend or someone who paints, and have them put a light coat of clear on the parts. do that, wet sand and buff... your parts will shine. good luck
