BE CAREFUL!!! CARFAX IS BY NO MEANS THE BE ALL END ALL ON CARS. While hunting both for my current car and my fiancee's car, I ran across numerous times when a car had a "clean" carfax, and after a basic inspection, either not worth a penny, crashed badly and never reported, or had the mileage totally falsified. I'm not saying it's not a good tool, just do your own investigations. Carfax relies on police reports, State reports and insurance reports.

Let's say I had a car, uninsured, and I bounced it off a couple of curbs, never chaged the oil, and let it get salt water up to it's wheel wells. If I never filed a claim with insurance, NONE of that would be on the Carfax. oh and beware of anything that had a Taxi or rental title. When was the last time you treated a rental car nicely?? Just be careful, and keep your head about you. Best of luck!
