You could get a really nice 4th gen (92-96) or probably a decent 5th gen (97-01). Make sure you check the maintenance records. Whatever you do, get a stick, and if you get a 5th gen be aware that the sportshift semi-automatic has a bad habit of failing.

Yes, they're wonderful cars. Wow, that's a lot of money to throw down for a first car at 17, I'm jealous.
