I did the 9005 Silverstar conversion for my '94 GSR. You're right about the (extremely) shortened lifespan. I have already had 2 burn out on me in just like 6 months. I just ended up saying screw it and I just got a set of 9006 (standard fit) xtravisions and put those in. I definitely liked how the 9005 silverstars looked better, but I got tired of shelling out $20 each, not to mention the hassle off prepping the 9005 bulb to fit in the low beam connector.
