Well when he gets a new one, inform him to read the instructions. Water accumulates inside the tank from the changing air pressure. Your supposed to drain the water out every so often. If you don't it causes the tank to rust from the inside (making it weaker and weaker over time). Eventually it will do just that (explode). Glad no one was hurt.
