9005 vs 9006 headlight bulbs?
I have decided to finally put better bulbs in my headlights of my 97 LS because the stock bulbs (yes supprisingly they haven't burnt out ever) are just not cutting it, but i am not sure if i want to do either the 9006 Sylvania XtraVision or the 9005 Sylvania XtraVision conversion.
I decided on these bulbs because the Sylvania Silverstar use an overdriven filament which cause them to have a short lifespan (even thou they are most popular) and Sylvania XtraVision apparently have the most "usable" light.
My question thou is what is the difference between a 9006 (stock size) and a 9005 bulb if you can get the Sylvania XtraVision in both? What are the pros and cons of each bulb. I know that with some "conversions" you can either melt the headlight lens or ruin the wiring harness.
Plz any info will help!!
