well i got them off tonight. penetrating oil and a 22 ounce ballpeen hammer. It still took 50 or so really good whacks. It seems that hitting it between the bolts seems to have been the "sweet spot" a few shots on the edges may have helped as well. I put some old lug nuts back on the bolts before swinging that big hammer just in case i was off target a time or two. It payed off as I did hit a nut a time or two which could have really messed up the bolts. I can't believe that rust hold that hard.
