I'm not real sure about the 6th gen stuff, I think you can still switch over to teg brakes, which would be the cheapest way to bigger brakes, and for suspension, a GC kit with eibach springs should set you up pretty well, but if you want any symbolence of a smooth ride, get a fixed drop kit, the threaded body kits tend to have harsh spring rates and be under-damped.
