s-afc hack problems

i've been messing around w/ my safc2 and when we initially started the car it was idling crazily engine looked like it was gonna jump out of the bay...etc..etc im running dsm injectors w/ inline resistors
well i got all that calmed down followed most of the afc hack things step for step, except for the way they have it written..here are somethings im wondering
in the instructions off "thermalfid16's" website, it says ne-p:hvt / ne-p:lvt, well there isn't any of that on my safc2, only ne-point thats it..just 1, but anyways mine is set up like
hi & lo throttle both set :
1000 : -40%
1600 : -40%
2600 : -40%
2800 : -40%
3400 : -40%
4000 : -40%
5000 : -35%
5600 : -35%
6000 : -35%
6400 : -35%
7000 : -35%
7600 : -35%
so on so forth to 9000 @ -35%
im getting boost but im getting a cel also, the cel kicks when the car first hits boost, then bogs a bit, then it allows me to boost but only to like 3-4grand, and then it detonates...backfires..and the throttle, just stops like no more power, and then i let off and drive again..
im running open downpipe right now could this be the cause of some of my problems?
later today -> after i get home from class, im going to take my car to "autozone" to get the "ceL" tested find out what codes its throwing, but i would like for anyone w/ a d16y7, to post how they're running their ne-points, and any helpful hints to get this thing running right... im really stumped now..and i mean ive been messing w/ the settings all day and i mean i guess i achieved boost today, but its still not running right at all...
anyone w/ tips? anything? im desperate...and none of the shops around here have a clue about the "hack"...
also i've been wondering what people have their th-position set at... mine are 71% lo - 72% hi right now....
