If I remember correctly from my younger days (ripe old age of 26) we would just have a speaker wire that connected the two same type terminals (+to+ , -to-) on the sub together. Then we just run one length of speaker cable from the amp to the sub.

Side note: I think the sub should make some kind of noise even if you only connect one set of terminals. You might have a bad sub.
