SAT score only helps to negate GPA if you get a really good score. For example I got a case of senioritis some time my junior year and when it came to apply I think my GPA was hovering right at 3.0 maybe a little lower. But I got a 1450 on my SATs and I still got in to all the schools I applied to: Northwestern, Washington University (the private one, in St. Louis), University of Wisconsin, University of Maryland, American University, Clemson.

Maybe I wrote good essays. :dunno:
