Default 91 Lude B21 Rebuild

I've done serveral searchs and am aware of the problems associated with rebuilding the B21 as far as the cyclinder walls/rings issue. Most of the information deals with just getting away from the B21. I am looking for someone who has had success and experience rebuilding this engine. I would like to keep my 91 lude all original so I am determined to rebuild the B21 right. One question that comes to mind is. When you bore this block is the FRM on the cylinders still present? How thick is this material? I realize this is not the best design created by honda but this engine has made it 220k and the oil consumption still is about what you'd expect from a engine with that many miles on it. About a quart every 700 miles and some of that is due to a small leak at the oil pan gasket. I am not convinced its a lemon. I believe however that extra care must be taken to re-establish what was there from the factory due to this touchy design. If there is anyone out there who has had success with this engine I would like to know what kind of parts you used. Were they factory pistons/rings/bearings or were they after market parts? Did you buy a short block or rebuild it yourself? Did you bore it or just re-ring it? If you had it bored was the FRM still there to deal with or not? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
