My son 1998 Honda Civic LX has a transmission problem. It has a 5-speed in it. It shifts fine from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, but it will not go in to 4th gear. If you force it into 4th it will go, but when you try and come out of 4th and go into any other gear it real hard to shift. If you by pass 4th and go into 5th from 3rd everything is fine. It smooth shifting in all the gears if you do not try and shift into 4th. I'm guessing something is wrong inside the tranny. Anybody have any ideal? It is just a stock Honda Civic. I guess I need to get the tranny rebulit or find another one to replace it with.
