I'm doing some work this summer for my dad and i've been talking to him about getting me a 2nd car. I'm talking like dirt cheap $600 1990 - 1993 integra that i want to turn into a track car to give my BMW a little break from my right foot.
Ive been looking around in my local autotrader type stuff to see what i can find and i've found a few that fit my criteria.
First questions would be doing a head gasket job. I'm not sure how technical this forum is, but does doing a head job/ gasket replacement as a DIY at home mechanic (im 20 but have done everything that has broke on my 5er in the past 3 years) seem feasable?
Also, I was wondering what is involved in adding V-Tech to lets say a GS (that i'm assuming does not come with Vtech, its only the GSRs that have them correct?)
If I went to a junk yard and found an engine with V-Tech on it, would it be as simple as pulling the head off the engine and grabbing some electronics like the ECU out of said car and swapping it into my non V-tech'd car?
I'm very excited about entering into the Japanese car arena and hopefully will have one within a month or so.
Also, any thought on the integra vs like the CRX Si or the Prelude Si? They are all pretty much the same engines with different bodies correct?
