Ouch! I've learned a long time ago, no matter how well your engine is built, redline exists for a reason, therefore, you should not hit it. Think about this...... Porsche's factory warranty on 911 Turbos states that if you ever go past redline and then take the car in for a problem the warranty is void. And they can check it by simply connecting the OBD computer. Some dealers may check if you've ever hit redline every time you come in for an oil change. My step-brother owned a 1999 for 2 years, and he said that the dealer was adamant about that. I just prefer never to hit it myself. The Prelude is fast enough between 4500 and 7000.
