Alarm problems with 98 Passport
I have a 1998 Passport with about 100,000 miles on it. For the last few days, the alarm has been acting up. When I lock the doors, using either the key fob or the power lock button, the alarm turns on (as it always has, and is supposed to). However, after about 1/2 hour or so, the alarm starts going off for no apparent reason. It has been doing it EVERY time I lock the vehicle now, and I have been in various locations (my garage, parking garages, shopping malls, work sites), so I don't think it is a fluke. The strange thing is that sometimes it does it 20 mins after it is locked, and other times it is an hour later. The average is about 30 mins or so. I have opened and closed all the doors, pulled the fuses and put them back in, and made sure the hood was closed good. I know these sound like stupid things, but I don't know what else to do... ANY suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I am not able to lock my car now! Thanks for your time --Nick.
